These are full-time positions based in the Greater Toronto Area, running from mid-July to October 2026 at 36.25 hours per week. Compensation is $26 per hour.

Campaign Lead, Operations and Field Strategy

The Campaign Lead, Operations and Field Strategy leads the grassroots organizing and regional coordination efforts behind Voice the Vote, a civic participation initiative by The Democratic Engagement Exchange and United Way Greater Toronto.
This role oversees the day-to-day execution of Voice the Vote's field strategy by leading a team of field staff delivering events, activations, tabling, and other grassroots outreach activities. The Campaign Lead ensures outreach efforts are thoughtfully coordinated, responsive to community needs, and grounded in relationship-building. They bring strong organizational skills, initiative, and attention to detail to support implementation while ensuring community feedback, data, and stories are captured to strengthen campaign learning and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate campaign strategy and grassroots outreach efforts across Toronto, Peel, and York Region to strengthen communities and civic participation.
Train, mentor, and support volunteers and field staff throughout the campaign.
Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, local leaders, and grassroots partners.
Monitor outreach activities and adapt campaign strategies in response to community feedback and emerging opportunities.
Support the collection and synthesis of outreach data to inform campaign planning and evaluation.
Anticipate challenges, identify solutions, and take initiative to keep campaign activities moving forward effectively.
Ensure all activities align with campaign objectives, values, accessibility standards, and community engagement best practices.
Qualifications
Strong interest in community engagement, civic participation, grassroots organizing, or social impact.
Demonstrated experience coordinating projects, teams, volunteers, events, or community initiatives.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and synthesize information from multiple sources.
Experience translating field data and community feedback into evidence-informed staffing, outreach, and operational strategies.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, or other tools used to track activities, monitor progress, and manage operational data.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to motivate and communicate effectively with teams.
Demonstrated ability to identify and address challenges proactively, take initiative, and work independently in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Knowledge of the Greater Toronto Area's diverse communities is considered an asset.
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

The Campaign Lead identifies emerging themes, shapes public conversations, and ensures community voices influence local agendas. Combining creativity with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, they develop strategic communications that inspire residents to recognize their power to shape the future of their communities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement marketing, communications, and digital engagement strategies that advance campaign goals and deepen civic participation.
Create accessible, engaging, and values-aligned campaign content across digital platforms.
Gather, synthesize, and interpret stories, feedback, and insights collected through community conversations, events, and outreach activities.
Identify emerging themes and trends from both quantitative and qualitative data to surface the issues residents care about most.
Translate community experiences and campaign insights into compelling narratives that elevate resident priorities and inform broader municipal conversations.
Produce and coordinate storytelling content, including written materials, social media assets, graphics, videos, newsletters, press releases, and other communications products.
Monitor, analyze, and report on engagement metrics and campaign performance to strengthen outreach efforts, adapt strategies, and measure impact.
Support media relations, public-facing communications, campaign promotions, presentations, and community events as required.
Maintain organized records of communications materials, assets, and community insights gathered throughout the campaign.
Ensure communications align with campaign objectives, values, and accessibility standards.
Qualifications
Strong interest in communications, storytelling, civic participation, or community engagement.
Demonstrated creativity and initiative, with the ability to identify opportunities, generate ideas, and independently move projects from concept to completion.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and coordinate projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and identify themes from information gathered through multiple sources.
Experience translating complex information, community feedback, or research findings into accessible and compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
Experience using content creation tools, including graphic design, video editing, photography, and/or multimedia storytelling software.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
Experience in monitoring and interpreting engagement metrics to inform communications strategies and assess impact.
Comfort engaging with community members from diverse backgrounds and approaching storytelling with cultural humility, care, and ethical considerations.
Experience in nonprofit communications, advocacy campaigns, journalism, community organizing, public engagement, marketing, or related fields is considered an asset.
Fluency in languages commonly spoken across Toronto, Peel, and York Region is considered an asset.
Demonstrated ability to identify and address challenges proactively, take initiative, and work independently in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Knowledge of the Greater Toronto Area's diverse communities is considered an asset.
