The 2026 Canadian Vote Summit brought together election administrators, policymakers, researchers, journalists, civil society leaders, students, and democracy practitioners from across Canada in Calgary on May 20–21, marking our first Summit out West.
Under the theme From Divide to Dialogue, participants explored one of the defining challenges of our time: how to move beyond polarization and create the conditions for meaningful democratic dialogue. Together, we confronted the fears that often keep us silent, fear of conflict, fear of difference, and fear of being wrong - and examined how curiosity, trust, and understanding can strengthen our democratic institutions and communities.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our largest and most impactful Summit yet. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and carrying the momentum forward.
